AYCC community workshops cover a variety of subjects - from first aid courses to youth workshops.
In the first aid workshop, participants of all ages learn different levels of first aid and types of care that first responders, healthcare providers, and public safety professionals provide to anyone who is experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or an obstructive airway. It requires knowledge and skills in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), using Automated External Defibrillators (AED), and relieving airway obstructions in patients of every age. Another important part of first aid is being able to have critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as being able to work as part of a team to deliver the appropriate care and improve patient outcomes.
